Events dedicated to the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Netherlands and in Luxembourg

On the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide ambassador Tigran Balayan visited Assen and Almelo on the 24th of April, 2021, where he paid tribute to the consecrated martyrs of the Armenian Genocide by placing wreaths at the monument in Assen and at the memorial in Almelo dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. Following the ceremonies the ambassador was interviewed by the representatives of the Dutch media.

On the same day, the second secretary of the Armenian ambassador, David Mirzakhanyan visited Amsterdam and paid tribute to the innocent victims of the Great Cathastroph by placing a wreath on behalf of the ambassador at the Cross stone devoted to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

Members of the Dutch Parliament, local councils, the mayor of Almelo and representatives of Greek and Assyrian communities of Amsterdam and Almelo, Armenian community in the Netherlands were also present at the ceremonies. The Federation of Armenian Organization in the Netherlands held an online commemoration ceremony of the occasion.

On 24th of April, a candle lighting ceremony was organized in Luxemburg by the “Armenia-Luxemburg” friendship association in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Ambassadors, representatives of different political forces of Luxemburg, honorary Consul of RA in Luxemburg and other representatives of the Armenian community attended the ceremony.
